Influential factors analysis on fertilization behavior of farmers in metropolitan suburbs - based on survey of 202 farmers in Beijing suburbs.

【Objective】The influential factors for the fertilization behavior of farmers were studied to provide references for promoting farmers' scientific and rational application of fertilizer. 【Method】According to the data from the survey of202 Farmers in Beijing Suburbs, general linear model was used to analyze the influential factors of farmers' fertilization behavior. 【Result】The results showed that the selling rate and the expected income of agricultural products had a significantly positive impact on fertilizer use. While educational background, land ownership, understanding of the environment, soil testing technique, soil deep scarification technology promotion and organic fertilizer subsidy policy had a significantly negative effect on fertilizer use. 【Suggestion】Combined with the advantages of capital, market, technology, human resources,and information in metropolis, the government should redouble efforts on advertising farmer health and environmental protection, quicken promotion of soil deep scarification and testing technique, solidify organic fertilizer subsidy policy,strengthen logo management of agricultural products, and advance the establishment of agricultural products certification system. Only in this way can the government play a bigger role in guiding and managing farmers' scientific and rational application of fertilizer.
