Investigation and analysis of antibacterial drug reasonable application in a second grade general hospital

Objective:To understand the situation of antimicrobial drug use by investigating inpatient medical orders in a second grade general hospital. Method:The use of antibiotics of 512 patients admitted to hospital from February 12,2012,to 24 in our hospital were analyzed with cross-sectional survey methodology. Result:Among 512 patients,the use rate of antibiotics was 73.44%,microbial inspection rate was 8.5%,medication rate of above two drugs combination was 41.0%,and prophylactic drug use rate was 44.4%.In respect of route of administration,intravenous administration accounted for 99.5% and oral administration accounted for 0.5%.In the existing 35 kinds of antibiotics used in our hospital,the most frequently used was ceftazidime.The department with the highest antibiotics use rate 90.9% was cardiothoracic surgery,and with the lowest was Department of Neurology,19.4%.The departments with the highest microbial inspection rate were neurology and neonatology,both for 16.7%,and with the lowest rate were Department of ENT,rehabilitation,traditional Chinese medicine and stomatology,all for 0.The microbial inspection rate of more than 35-year-old physician was 6.25%,and under the age of 35 was 93.75%. Conclusion:Antibiotics use rate in our hospital was high,the proportion of perioperative prophylactic use was high,microbial inspection rate was extremely low,and the experiential drug use was more common,therefore it should take measures to reduce antibiotics use.
