Study on oil-paper insulation aging based on multi-characteristic parameters

In order to study on transformer oil — paper insulation aging based on multi-characteristic parameters, especially the acid in oil, this paper set up four groups of contrast experiments with # 25 transformer oil and Kraft paper. And then this paper puts forward evaluation methods and standards for the degree of insulation aging based on acid value assessment. The results show that the acid value of oil has little correlation with the degree of aging, but its mutation point can be used as the warning threshold for aging failure of insulating paper. The degree of polymerization, furfural, CO and total hydrocarbons are strongly related to the aging of oil and paper insulation. Furfural, CO and total hydrocarbons are mostly produced by aging of insulating paper and can be used as evaluation parameters for insulating paper aging. This paper has great practical significance to guide the work for transformer state monitoring, the early warning of defects and fault handling.
