Research progress of pest detection technology for stored grain based on odor-biotechnology

2021
Abstract. If people understand the state of stored grain insect and the degree of impact and damage on food quality indicators in time , it will provide reference for them to scientifically understand the situation of stored grains and food quality, evaluate the economics of pests, formulate control strategies and manage in a timely and effective manner, Therefore, the rapid and accurate detection of stored grain pest density is of vital importance to ensure grain storage safety, food safety and storage management. Due to the diversity of grain types and the difficulty of early pest detection, it is hard to detect stored-grain pests. The existing single detection technology has its own limitations. With the development of various technologies, the integration of multiple technologies serves as a breakthrough to solve the old problem. Head space solid phase microextraction(HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technology were used to analyze the odor of insect and volatile compounds of grain, select or make corresponding electrochemical biosensors according to special volatiles, and then convert the signals generated by the sensors into physical and chemical signals, and finally provide feedback to users through Internet technology. It is of great significance to improve the safety of grain storage by the development of a fast, efficient, economical and practical grain insect detection equipment.
