Clinical application of vaginal replacement by peritoneum in radical hysterectomy of cervical cancer.

2009
Objective To evaluate the vaginal replacement by peritoneum in radical hysterectomy of cervical cancer and the influence factors in vaginal reconstruction. Methods The patients with cervical cancer at early stage were selected from May 2003 to Sep.2007,and divided into two groups:research group(n=37),who underwent replaced vagina by peritoneum, ovarian transposition and radical hysterectomy, and control group(n=31),who underwent ovarian transposition and radical hysterectomy. Results There were no significant differences in hemorrhage, operation duration and the incidence of uroschesis(P0.05)between the two groups.Patients in the research group were more satisfied with their postoperative sexual life, and had less sexual interest decline than patients in control group(P0.05).Conclusion The vaginal replacement by peritoneum improves sexual life quality effectively for patients with cervical cancer at early stage.Postoperative radiotherapy can result in vaginal shortening, which is an unfavorable factor to sexual life quality.
