Evaluation of propofol/thiopentone and isoflurane anaesthesia in dogs

2018
The clinico-physiological and haemato-biochemical parameters were evaluated in 24 clinical cases of dogs undergoing different surgical procedures after premedication with atropine sulphate, diazepam/midazolam with butorphanol followed by anaesthetic induction with propofol or thiopentone sodium and maintained with isoflurane inhalation anaesthesia. The alterations noticed in different parameters were studied. Overall results indicated that the combinations caused only transient changes in clinico-physiological and haemato-biochemical parameters. Atropine-butorphanol-midazolam-propofolisoflurane anaesthetic protocol provided better balanced anaesthesia compared to others.
