Occipital hairline involvement in frontal fibrosing alopecia: frequency, clinical presentation and trichoscopy findings in a series of twenty patients.

2020
Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) was first described by Kossard in 1994 as a variant of lichen planopilaris, affecting mainly postmenopausal women. FFA typically affects the frontotemporal hairline, but it may affect other regions of the scalp and any other hairy areas of the body. Pruritus, pain, and burning can be observed in variable degrees on the affected sites.
