J Gen Virol 2008;89:2359–76; Bornholdt & Prasad Nat Struc Mol Biol 2006;13:559–60; Chen & Krug EMBO J 1999;18:2273–83; Garcia-Sastre Emerg Infec Dis 2006;12:44–47). Furthermore, one of the co-authors listed denied any involvement in the preparation of the manuscript in question. One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that all the authors declare explicitly that their work is original and has not appeared in a publication elsewhere. Re-use of any data and statements should be appropriately cited. As such this article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and we apologize to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
