Intervention of Immune Escape in Postmenopausal Breast Cancer Patients with Ruyan Recipe

2012
Objective:To observe the intervention of immune escape in postmenopausal breast cancer patients with Ruyan Recipe after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Methods:By the prospective, randomized and controlled methods, sixty postmenopausal breast cancer patients after treatment with western medicine, were equally randomized into two groups. The levels of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells, interleukin 10(IL-10),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),soluble CD44 variant 6(sCD44v6)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)in peripheral blood were observed. The scores if quality of life(QOL)and Chinese medical syndrome were observed to evaluate the clinical effect. Results:The total scores of QOL in both groups were superior to those before treatment(P 0.01).The improvement of symptoms such as lassitude and fatigue, tidal fever, diet discomfort, stool disorder, soreness and weakness of the lions and knees in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group, the differences being significant(P 0.05 or P 0.01).The levels of CD4+CD25+Tr,VEGF,sCD44v6,TGF-β1,and IL-10 in the treatment group were decreased in the treatment group(P 0.05 or P 0.01compared with those in the control group). Conclusion:Ruyan Recipe can relieve the clinical symptoms of postmenopausal breast cancer patients and promote QOL,and its therapeutic mechanism may be related with the intervention of immune escape through multiple ways and with the recovery of immunologic surveillance.
