Application of thin layer chromatography in the process of preparation of α-phenyi ethanol

Thin layer chromatography was used to separate and analyze the sample in preparation ofα-phe- nyl ethanol.The best developing solvent system is ethyl acetate:hexane=5:3(v/v).The reactants and products could be separated effectively.The pure product was obtained with column chromatograph.
