Diagnosis in the pregnant woman

2000
In most countries, screening programs for toxoplasmosis during pregnancy do not exist, so far. Reasons for that are economi, discussion of epidemiological importance of prenatal infection and uncertainty of serological interpretations in several cases. However, the existing screening systems in Austria and France indicate that medical advantages arising from such programs seem to justify those additional costs for the healths systems [1,2].
