A Dynamic Performance Test Method for GNSS Receiver Based on Vehicular Microwave Anechoic Chamber

2018
The dynamic performance test and evaluation of high precision GNSS receiver was a major technical problem in the field of navigation and surveying. The major difficulty was to obtain higher accuracy reference data, and to remain the stability of relative position between the reference equipment (RE) and the equipment under test (EUT) in dynamic conditions. In this paper, a dynamic verification method based on vehicular microwave anechoic chamber (VMAC) was proposed. Far field conditions was fulfilled in a vehicular chamber, in which a transponder was used to transmit GNSS signal into the chamber, to make sure EUT and RE receive identical signals. Thus, the measurements of EUT and RE were equivalent to the phase center of the transponder antenna. The test of the VMAC method was presented and its implementation was introduced. Test results show that the VMAC method can be used for dynamic pseudo-range positioning accuracy test, and carrier-phase differential positioning accuracy evaluation. Besides, this method can also be applied for equipment development and design, technical identification, production testing, periodic verification etc.
