Fibrosarcoma, Dermis and Subcutis, Rat

Fibrosarcomas can appear grossly as elevated dermal or subcutaneous masses that are often ulcerated and attached firmly to surrounding tissues. They frequently reach several centimeters in size and vary from grayish-white to red or purple depending on the amount of hemorrhage and necrosis. They have a firm or fleshy consistency and can appear lobulated on cut section (Carter 1973; Stannard and Pulley 1978; Yager and Scott 1985).
