Varicella vaccination – indications and contra-indications

Varicella-zoster immunoglobulin (VZIG) 0.15 ml/kg by intramuscular injection (minimum 1ml and maximum 5 ml) should be given to all individuals at risk within 96 hours of exposure, the earlier, the better.
