Development and Characterization of MAb against Haemagglutinin of Highly Pathogenic H5 Avian Influenza Virus

2005
Six MAbs against haemagglutinin of higly pathogenic H5 avian influenza virus were developed by fusing SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells of BALB/c mice immunized with Ck/HK/Yu22/02(H5N1),which were designated as 2F2,3C8,3FC1, 7C6,10HD4 and 13G4 respectively.By hemagglutinin inhibition test(HI),these six MAbs displayed high specificity and reactivity.Based on the MAb 2F2,we developed three diagnostic assays for H5N1 viruses, all displaying very good specificity to H5N1 virus. The results suggested that these MAbs will be very useful in diagnosing H5N1 viruses.
