One lung ventilation and traditional endotracheal intubation in the application of flexible ureteroscopy and holium laser lithotripsy: a comparative study
2019
Objective
To compare the safety and efficacy of one lung ventilation and traditional endotracheal intubation in the application of flexible ureteroscopy and holium laser lithotripsy.
Methods
From November 2016 to October 2017, the data of 67 patients with renal calculus underwent flexible ureteroscopy and holium laser lithotripsy, including 29 cases of one lung ventilation group and 38 cases of traditional tracheal intubation group were analyzed retrospectively. The time of operation, the clearance rate of 30 days after surgery, the hospital stay and the postoperative complications were compared.
Results
The operation of 67 patients were completed without serious complications. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the stone clearance rate, postoperative complications and the hospital stay (P>0.05). The time of operation of one lung ventilation group was significantly shorter than that of traditional endotracheal intubation group (P<0.001).
Conclusion
Compared with traditional endotracheal intubation, one lung ventilation has equivalent stone removal efficiency, and its surgical time is significantly shortened.
