Evolution of Perovskite Solar Cells

2018
Abstract From 2012 to 2016, solar cells based on hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites have emerged as a promising photovoltaic (PV) technology due to their high power conversion efficiencies and low cost fabrication methods. The rapid evolution of this emerging PV technology from its inclusion as an absorbing dye in dye-sensitized solar cells to stand alone devices with efficiency >22% has made perovskite solar cells (PSCs) an exciting and important field of research. In this chapter, we summarize some of the major advancements of this rapid progress related to the evolution of device architecture, film deposition method, device engineering techniques, which are critical factors to the development of PSCs.
