Comparative Investigation of Tissue Reaction with 1.06 µm and 1.32 µm Nd: YAG Laser Radiation

1986
All of the Nd:YAG laser systems currently in surgical use operate at a wavelength of 1.06 µm. The low absorption in tissue at this wavelength results in a uniform coagulation effect. Surgical laser systems of this type have proven useful in neurosurgery, pulmonology, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology and dermatology.
