A catalogue of catalogs : A resource for a small library so it can be the place to go for those who need to know

1998
ABSTRACT Information is a critical asset for the success of economic, social and government development in rural America. This article is a current list of information resources for the small town and its library. Categories of information included in this “Catalogue of Catalogs” are rural economic development, antiques and collectibles, agriculture online, agricultural books and videos, do it yourself, rural education, rural health, small business, and small governments. Since rural libraries can be the links in improving rural access to the information superhighway, many of the resources in this article are Internet web sites. Other resources are free and inexpensive pamphlets, paper catalogs, books, magazines and videos suitable for small libraries in rural communities. Most of the resources cannot be found in regular library review journals but are located in municipal county and state government affiliated publications and on web sites specializing in access to rural topics.
