92 – Techniques and Complications of Transphyseal Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in the Skeletally Immature Patient

2018
The knee is the most frequent site of musculoskeletal injury in the pediatric athlete. Recent literature data support that children and adolescents account for 0.5–3% of all ACL injuries. Management of such lesions is mandatory to avoid future chondral or meniscal injury which can lead to early osteoarthritis. However, treatment in children is challenging and subjects such as operative time, surgical technique, graft selection and residual complications are still controversial.
