Wenzhong Huayu Decoction Impact on Recurrence and Metastasis of Advanced Gastric Cancer after Operation Treated and Chemotherapy

Objective:To study the effect of Wenzhong Huayu Decoction and chemotherapy on the recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer after operation.Methods:The 51 patients of gastric cancer after operation were randomized into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=21).The control group was treated simply by chemotherapy and the treatment group by chemotherapy and Wenzhong Huayu Decoction.Condition of recurrence and metastasis,quality of life,peripheral blood examination and immune function were observed 12months later.Results:The recurrence and metastasis rate of treatment group was remarkably lower than that of control group(P0.05),The median time for tumor to progression(TTP)in treatment group were 11 months,which was remarkably longer than the latter(8 months,P0.05).the Karnofsky score,peripheral blood and immune function were all remarkably improved in comparison with control group(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion:Wenzhong Huayu Decoction with chemotherapy has a good function in resisting Recurrence and Metastasis of gastric cancer after operation and increasing the sensitivity and decreasing the untoward reactions,and improving quality of life and immune function of patients as well.
