Assistência pré-natal e acolhimento sob a ótica de gestantes na atenção primária à saúde: estudo qualitativo

This study aimed to know how pregnant women perceive the prenatal care and the user embracement provided in Primary Health Care. Qualitative research,  performed twenty-one interviews between April and July 2018 in a Primary Health Unit located in the Northeast Region. Through content analysis, four categories emerged: Prenatal care and its importance; Prenatal care quality; The (dis)satisfaction with the embracement received; User embracement and changes needed. That most pregnant women were satisfied and approved the care received, especially from the professional nurse, both in the theoretical framework, as in more technical procedures, such as monitoring the fetal vitality and drug regimens. In contrast, pregnant women are not welcomed in the health unit, and reported delay in care and lack of empathy on the part of some professionals. It is extremely important that professionals involved in care provide the necessary support to women in their pregnancy process, from the adherence and continuity of their prenatal care, to the psychic reorganization regarding the bond with the baby, body changes and the resumption of the baby. family planning.
