Research on Optimization Design of UHV Transformer Based on Railway Transportation

The UHV grid backbone grid is an important support for the construction of “three-type two-network”. UHV AC transformer is one of the most core equipments in UHV AC engineering. It has the characteristics of large transportation size and heavy weight. This has led to the question of how to ensure its transportability while ensuring safety and reliability has always been a key concern. This paper studies and analyzes the current transportation limits of various modes of transportation in China, selects the appropriate mode of railway transportation, determines the transportation vehicles and transportation boundary conditions of UHV transformers. From the aspects of body structure, insulation design and fuel tank structure, the optimized design and measures for reducing the size and weight of UHV transformer transportation are studied. The research results show that the existing UHV transformers can meet the boundary requirements of railway transportation after reasonable optimization and design, and can realize railway transportation. It provides more flexible and diverse options for the subsequent UHV engineering transformer transportation mode, effectively supporting the construction of the project.
