Delaminated Ti3C2Tx flake as an effective UV-protective material for living cells

2019
Abstract UV irradiation is a threat to the living cells which could damage the DNA and lead to the death of cells. In this study, delaminated Ti3C2Tx flake was applied as a novel UV-protective material for living cells. Compared with naked yeasts, the cell viability of coated yeasts could be obviously increased after exposing to the UV light. Besides yeasts, this material could be applied in the protection of mammalian cell under UV irradiation. Thus, the delaminated MXene flake has potential applications in cells storage, cell transportation, and UV-resistant fields.
