Roles of Serendipita indica in phytoremediation ofheavy metal pollution

2021
Heavy metal pollution has been a global concern. Among the measures to deal with it, plant-microorganism combined bioremediation has received much attention for its high efficiency and low cost. Serendipita indica , a kind of fungus, coexist with various plants, promoting the growth and improving stress tolerance of the host. This article systematically reviews the establishment process of symbiosis between Serendipita indica and plants, as well as the research progress on growth, photosynthesis, resistance physiological indicators, defense gene expression and response to heavy metal enrichment under heavy metal stress, and puts forward research prospects for the research status. It provides a theoretical reference for further understanding the remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil using Serendipita indica and plant symbiosis.
