Oesophageal perforation due to swallowing of a dental prosthesis

A 37-year-old man with mental retardation presented to the emergency department after inadvertently swallowing a dental prosthesis. Chest radiography revealed a foreign body within the stomach (Figure 1A, arrow head). Oesophagogastroscopy was planned to remove the prosthesis, but the foreign body was lodged in the oesophagus during manipulations. He started to have marked chest pain
