Surgical Management of Oral Fibrosarcoma in a Dog

A female Dachshund dog was presented with history of growth on hard palate and gums. Under intravenous general anesthesia, the mass was surgically excised. The growth on hard palate and gums was hard in consistency and deeply implanted in upper gum region. Histopathologically, a high degree of cellular anaplasia, pleomorphism, spindle to stellate shaped cells arranged in form of interlacing bundles were observed and was diagnosed as fibrosarcoma. During observation period of three months, improvement along with recurrence of tumor was presented for second excision.
