Personalized physical activity in oncology

2016
Personalized physical activity (PPA) is adapted to each patient. Prescribed by a physician with a specified dosage, it is framed by trained sports educators. Performed under safe conditions and fun, benefits can be felt starting from as little as 150 min/week, improving quality of life at all stages of cancer. Some studies demonstrate PPA’s positive impact on primary prevention, reduced recurrences, and an improved survival rate. This is underpinned by metabolic, endocrine, immune, and neurobiological effects.
