Pinhole Incision on Indirect Inguinal Hernia High Ligation in 180 Children

Objective Study on treatmental method of surgical micro-trauma to indirect inguinal hernia in children.Methods Analyzing the experience in 180 cases (128 of them followed up after operation ) with indirect inguinal hernia in children done by high ligation with pinhole incision.Results The operations on 180 cases were successful and lasted 10~40 minutes,averaged 20 minutes. All the cases were, no bleeding nearly in these operations. The patients stayed in hospital for 1-7 days, averaging 3 days.One case in 1 week and 2 cases in half a year relapsed after the operation. There were no complications in the scrotum.Conclusions The operation was so small as to make light damage to the groin and the tissues nearby. The skin opening needs no stitching .The scar is invisible, which exactly agrees with what the aesthetics requires. This methods is suitable for children with indirect inguinal hernia, especially for small children under the age of 2 years.
