Surgical Removal of Two Setarial Worms from Anterior Chamber of a Horse

Two Kathiawari crossbred horse was presented with history of epiphora, blepharospasm, corneal oedema and mild opacity of left eye. Careful examination of anterior chamber revealed presence of two worms and diagnosed as equine setariosis. Surgically, both worms were removed through a clear corneal stab incision under Xylazine sedation and supra orbital nerve block. Post-operatively, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs were given. Uneventful recovery was observed within 15 days.
