ankylosing spondylitis, the criteria for ea rly detection, magnetic resonance imaging. The goal of research was to detect special aspects of diacrisis and clinical implications of an-kylosing spondylitis (AS). We examined 65 patients with AS under observation of practising rheumatologist in outpatient department of «Republican Clinical Hospital». For establishing di-agnosis used modified New York criteria of AS – 46 patients (group 1) and in the absence of radiographically detected sacroiliac disease – russian version of modified New York criteria of AS – 19 patients (group 2). High clinical activity was detected of every second patient with AS (52,3%), limited mobility of different regions of vertebral column and hip dysfunction – more than every third (41,5%), frank functional diseases – almost every second patient (46,2%) and high lab activity – in 75,4% of cases.
