Promising treatment of actinic keratoses with imiquimod cream 5

2002
Actinic keratoses are circumscribed cutaneous lesions which occur primarily on sun-exposed skin surfaces in the form of horny papules or plaques and which can subsequently develop into squamous cell carcinoma. Immiquimode is a novel immunomodulatory drug recently used for the topical treatment of genital warts. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of imiquimod cream 5% in the treatment of actinic keratoses.
