Diagnosis and Management of Nasal Granuloma in Gir Cattle

2016
The study describes macroscopic, radiographic and histopathologic findings of nasal granuloma (NG) in two Gir cattle. Overgrown nasal growths were removed surgically and three doses of Antimony lithium thiomalate were administered intramuscularly at week interval. Macroscopically, nasal granuloma was cauliflower like in Gir bullock, whereas cylindrical and pedunculated in Gir cow. Radiographically increased radiopacity of anterior nasal passage was observed. Histopathologically, nasal granuloma was composed by myxomatous stroma filled with inflammatory cells and lined by pseudostratified columnar epithelium. Macroscopic, radiographic and histopathologic findings were consistent with the diagnosis of nasal granuloma.
