Measurement of Neutron Capture Cross Section for Natural Palladium

2006
The neutron capture cross section of natural palladium has been measured relative to 10B(n,α) standard cross section by the neutron time‐of‐flght (TOF) method in the energy range of 0.01 eV to 10 keV using a detection assembly of Bi4Ge3O12 (BGO) scintillators and a 46 MeV electron linear accelerator (linac) at the Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University (KURRI). The relative cross section has been normalized at 0.0253 eV to the reference value estimated by using the cross sections of stable palladium isotopes in the JENDL‐3.3 library. The present results were compared with the evaluated values in the JENDL‐3.3.
