Evaluation of Periventricular Hypodensity in Clinical and Experimental Hydrocephalus by Metrizamide Computed Tomography

1984
Periventricular hypodensity is often demonstrated by computed tomography (CT) in patients with hydrocephalus2,6,7. The low density area is observed not only in cases of acute and hypertensive hydrocephalus but also in some cases of chronic communicating hydrocephalus with normal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure2. To clarify the pathophysiological significance of periventricular hypodensity, we performed the following clinical and experimental study.
