Technological practice of small-scale layered fracturing

2008
As a low and extra-low permeability oilfield, Xixiepo Oilfield features in large non-producing and difficult-to-recover reserves, long oil-bearing intervals, low single-well production, and high water sensitivity. Small-scale layered multi-cycle hydraulic fracturing techniques are employed to increase the production of the oilfield. On the basis of lab core evaluation, the Viking-C modified guar gel fracturing fluid system and the mid-strength low-density Carbo-Lite fracturing sand appropriate to the formation are utilized. The fracturing scale and fracture parameters are rationally designed. The casing fracturing injection mode is used in 68.2% fracturing operation which features in low discharge capacity and high sand concentration. Single-well production is effectively increased, as well as the development of low-efficiency oilfields.
