Self-efficacy through survivorship: Results from the LIVESTRONG Cancer Navigation Study.

9577 Background: With more than 13.7 million cancer survivors in the U.S., two-thirds of whom will live beyond five years post-treatment, creating programs to support survivors can be challenging as their needs evolve through each stage of survivorship. LIVESTRONG Cancer Navigation (LCN) offers services designed to address survivors’ needs at all stages of the cancer experience. Survivors experience new challenges and concerns when they transition from treatment to post-treatment care. We present the results of a LCN research study to describe how clients’ self-efficacy (SE) and needs vary depending on their stage of survivorship. Methods: In 2012, researchers studied LCN to determine how well the program enables cancer survivors to manage their health and practical concerns. Participants (n = 1388) completed surveys at intake, two, and six weeks post-intake to measure quality of life outcomes including cancer-related concerns, SE and distress.
