Synthesis and microwave absorption properties of Fe3O4@BaTiO3/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites

2016
The Fe3O4@BaTiO3/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites were synthesized by a two-step solvothermal method. The transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy images reveal that Fe3O4@BaTiO3 nanoparticles are uniformly loaded on the RGO sheets. The nanocomposites exhibit extraordinary microwave absorption properties, which is attributed to the multiple absorbing mechanisms. The microwave absorption properties show that the maximum reflection loss is −38.2 dB at 5.0 GHz with a thickness of 4 mm, and the absorption bandwidth with the reflection loss less than −10 dB is up to 13.9 GHz with a thickness in the range of 1.5–5.5 mm. It is believed that the Fe3O4@BaTiO3/RGO nanocomposites could be used as a promising microwave absorption material.
