Pancapsular Shift for Multidirectional Instability

2019
Management of multidirectional instability (MDI) of the shoulder remains a challenge. The arthroscopic treatment of MDI is used to improve glenohumeral stability, decrease laxity, and repair any damaged labral tissue. Capsular plication can be used to effectively reduce capsular volume incrementally which improves overall glenohumeral stability by deepening the glenoid concavity and reducing capsular laxity. This surgery alters shoulder biomechanics by constraining the capsuloligamentous structures.
