Solution to Ambiguity Problem in DOA Estimation by Steering Vector's Revision

2010
The ambiguity problem which produces the false estimated angles in the linear array's DOA estimation is caused by the larger array element spacing.By the steering vector's revision, the balance of steering vectors being equal totally generated by the real angle and the false angle was broken, the result of revision, which made the two steering vectors not be equal totally, restrained the ambiguities generated in DOA estimation greatly. To avoid the adjustment and addition to the antennas, the method of virtual array was adopted. The algorithm was verified by the computer simulation. The last algorithm has a big advantage in computation complexity reduction and practice possibility.
