Low-voltage class E/F 3 high frequency oscillator

This work proposes a new HF oscillator scheme with an operation mode that combines the switching conditions of class E with the load impedance conditions of inverse class F. The oscillator is based on shunt filter class E amplifier whose load network was modified by addition of a parallel circuit tuned for the second harmonic frequency. The class E/F 3 oscillator prototype demonstrates 86% efficiency at the frequency of 1 MHz and output power of 0.92 W while suppressing the second harmonic content of the output signal by more than 40 dB.
