Effects of the whole course individualized management on continuous nursing in patients with acute myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention

2020
Objective To explore the effects of the whole course individualized management on continuous nursing in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods One hundred and twenty-eight AMI patients after PCI who were hospitalized in the department of cardiology in a third-level first-class hospital in Changsha from January 2019 to June 2019 were selected. They were assigned to the intervention group and the control group using the random number table, and there were 64 participants in each group. Routine care was offered to the control group, while the whole course individualized management was offered in addition to the intervention group. The effectiveness of the whole course individualized management was assessed by the differences in the quality of life at hospital discharge and 3-month after hospital discharge and the difference in the treatment compliance at 3-month after hospital discharge between the two groups. Results Finally, 120 participants were included in this study, with 60 in each group. There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, Killip level, infarction location, number of the stent, and complications between the two groups (P>0.05). The scores of the Seattle angina questionnaire did not vary significantly between the two groups at hospital discharge (P>0.05). However, both the scores of Seattle angina questionnaire and 8-item Morisky medication adherence scale varied significantly between the two groups at 3-month after hospital discharge (P<0.05), with both being significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group. Conclusions The whole course of individualized management can not only improve the quality of life but also improve the treatment compliance in patients with AMI after PCI. Therefore, it can be further generalized in continuous nursing practice.
