Macroporous Polystyrene Functionalized Chromium MPS-Cr(lll)-alen Complex as a Sustainable Porous Catalyst for CO2 Fixation under atmospheric pressure and Selective Oxidation of Aromatic Alkenes

2020
The benign synthesis of macroporous polystyrene supported chromium MPS-Cr(III)-alen catalyst has been carried out precisely, which is characterized by different spectroscopic instruments like FT-IR, UV-Vis spectra, TEM, TGA and SEM. The MPS-Cr(III)-alen catalyst shows noteworthy performance for the sustainable development of the organic cyclic carbonate derivatives by various substituted epoxides employing CO2 balloon at room temperature under solvent-free condition. Additionally MPS-Cr(III)-alen material has also been elevated for the selective oxidation reaction of aromatic alkenes with 30% aqueous H2O2. This material can be easily reused for several runs with almost consistent efficiency.
