Case report of treatment with a sigmoid neovagina for a patient with vesicovaginal fistula and gynatresia

2018
Vaginal stenosis or gynatresia is when part of the female genital tract is occluded [1]. Gynatresia and vesicovaginal fistula are forms of delivery injury resulting, primarily, from prolonged obstructed labor in low-income countries [2]. Surgical repair of vesicovaginal fistula can be complicated by gynatresia. Repairing a fistula without addressing other issues such as gynatresia does not allow the patient to fully regain their normal life. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
