Facilitating Early-In-Day Discharge for Multiple Sclerosis Patients Treated With Intravenous Methylprednisolone: A Quality Improvement Project

2015
Delays in patient discharges from the hospital can have upstream effects on patient movement within the hospital. Early-in-day discharge has been described as one way of alleviating barriers to patient movement. Coordinating care and planning for discharge from the time of admission throughout the course of hospitalization can facilitate early-in-day discharge. This can be difficult to achieve due to barriers to care coordination and communication as well as delayed preparations for discharge.
