Progress of Pulmonary Surfactant in Treatment of the Second Phase ALI/ARDS Induced by Hydrochloric Acid Inhalation

Acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome(ALI/ARDS) are common critical diseases in clinic.The treatment measures include mechanical ventilation and drug treatment.Pulmonary surfactant(PS) is important to maintain the normal lung function.It has been attested that PS alterations have been implicated in the pathophysiology of ALI/ARDS,and that exogenous PS can exert therapeutic effect on patients with ALI/ARDS.This article discussed the efficacy and its possible mechanism of pulmonary surfactant treatment in the second phase of hydrochloric acid inhalation induced ALI /ARDS.
