Clinical Observation and Nursing Care of Somatostatin in Treatment of Chylothorax after Thoracotomy

Objective To explore the effect of somatostatin and systematic nursing measures on thoracotomy chylothorax.Methods 60 patients of thoracotomy chylothorax in our hospital from January 2007 to July 2010 were randomly divided into intervention group and control group.Daily pleural drainage decrease,the average healing time,the cure rate and mortality of two groups were compared.Results The daily pleural drainage decrease of nursing intervention group was significantly more than the control group,and healing time of nursing intervention group is shorter.The cure rate of conservative treatment in the intervention group was significantly higher than,but the total cure rate of two groups were all 100.0% and death rate were all 0%.There was no significant difference between the control group and the intervention group.Conclusion Chylothorax after thoracic surgery is one of the serious complications once diagnosed the active measures and series of careful nursing interventions should be taken to elevate the therapeutic efficacy,including psychological care,pleural infusion care,nursing closed thoracic drainage tube and pleural adhesion after-care.
