Features of acousto-optical parameters in olygoether(meth) acrylates

1996
Changes of the acousto-optical quality coefficient in the olygoether(meth)acrylate photopolymers of different chemical contents were investigated on their temperature dependence. We have revealed that increasing the number of aromatic rings and, to some extent, increasing the distance between neighbouring C=O chemical bonds leads to an increase of the acoustooptical quality coefficient M. It is also found that the parameter M increases with decreasing temperature below 80 K. A maximum value of the parameter M is always reached at low temperatures. Data obtained are in good agreement with previous investigations of the optical second harmonic generation. An essential influence of an external electric field on the acousto-optical properties of the mentioned photopolymers was revealed. In our opinion, it reflects the essential role of a crystalline reorientation which gives a contribution to the acousto-optical quality coefficient.
