Thermal control coatings based on pigments modified with Al2O3 nanoparticles

2019
Abstract The effect of modification with aluminum oxide nanopowders on reflectivity in the range of 0.25–2.5 μm and the radiation stability of white ZnO, TiO 2 , and ZrO 2 pigments and coatings based on them was studied. It has been shown that the effectiveness of the modification to increase the radiation stability after irradiation with electrons (Е = 30 keV, F = (1–9) ∙ 10 16  cm −2 ) depends on the type of pigment. The effectiveness does not exceed 26% for coatings based on ZnO and TiO 2 pigments, while for the coating ZrO 2 pigment it is 50%. The types of defects, the mechanisms of radiation defect formation in the initial and modified pigments and their influence on the reflection spectra have been considered.
