Treatment of calculous pyonephrosis with endourological technique

Objective:To investigate the feasibility of the treatment of calculous pyonephrosis with endourological technique.Methods:86 cases of calculous pyonephrosis were treated by endourological technique(62 cases by mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy,24 cases by transurethral ureteroscopy). 59 cases have been followed and evaluated one year after.later Results:The renal function returned to some extent in 66.1%(39/59).renal atrophy was observed in 30.5%(18/59) and nephrectomy in 3.4%(2/59).Conclusions:It is feasible and effective to treat calculous pyonephrosis with endourological technique. Most of the kidneys in calculous pyonephrosis might be saved.
